Being an artist means forever healing your own wounds and at the same time endlessly exposing them. —Annette Messenger

Body Prints

Meesh is the medium, inking her own body and pressing it onto paper as an expression of self-examination and an exploration of self-image. The monoprints seem to leave on the page life's assaults and betrayals, and to expunge the demons of doubt and shame. Her body prints are both portraiture and conceptual, a record of living flesh and a commentary on the larger issues of identity and survival.
